The purpose of this hearing is for me to get a good idea about what you can do as a musician. In that sense it is as much an interview as it is an audition. I simply want to get to know you and your playing so that I can plan for the upcoming semester.

LCCB members are strongly encouraged to take MUS 154 for 1/4 credit each semester. Sometimes there are academic conflicts that arise which prevent that--those can be worked with. Please ask me -- before you decide not to play with us -- if you have any concerns.

The Department of Music owns a selection of larger instruments (bass clarinets, baritone saxophones, tubas, etc.) that are available for student use free of charge, so long as the student remains in LCCB. 

Finally, it should go without saying that attendance at all rehearsals is expected and required. Absences due to illness and other extreme circumstances are acceptable, but absences due to non-academic reasons are not.
