TRAVEL PLANNING FORM: FACULTY CONFERENCES

Faculty members are required to use this form to request College travel assistance for attendance at scholarly conferences that will occur from July 1 to June 30 of the current academic year.  Faculty travel support is intended for faculty members participating in a conference by presenting a paper, chairing a session, or serving as a discussant; support also may be requested for attending one conference for one's own professional development.  Colleagues are encouraged to consult the Travel Procedures Memorandum available on the Provost's Office website for information about the allowed levels of reimbursement and the guidelines for making travel arrangements and registering for insurance for travel to international conferences.

Faculty who did not submit the Travel Planning Form by the original September deadline this fall can request conference travel support; however, approval of requests will depend on the availability of funds.  An automatic request for approval from your Department Head or Program Chair will be forwarded when you complete the on-line submission process. If you do not hear anything from the Office of the Provost two weeks after the deadline please consider your travel approved, Katie Antonioli will reach out within two weeks of the deadline if there are any issues with approving your travel.

Conference trips should be listed in order of priority and must include any trips since July 1 of this academic year for which the College has already approved travel support.

Your Faculty Rank (refer to Travel Procedures Memo on the Provost's Office website for approval procedures by faculty rank):

The Office of Alumni Relations invites faculty members, as part of their planned travel to conferences during the year, to meet with Lafayette alumni and speak at regional alumni events near the conference site.  Events featuring faculty are consistently the highest rated alumni programs each year.  Assuming that in-person travel occurs, Alumni Relations may be able to provide additional funding for faculty members willing to meet with/speak to alumni during their conference travel, as resources allow.
